9 things you need to know before playing TOWER OF FANTASY (100+ HR Player)

Introduction

I wrote this article with the aim of sharing tips & walkthroughs for those of you who want to try MMO games made by Level Infinite. Tower of Fantasy is a title that has just been released globally and can be accessed on the PlayStore right now. With this official release, surely many will want to try and play this game, especially because of the big aspect of this game which is trying to compete with one of the well-known games, Genshin Impact.

Based from this background, I want to share some important things to know before trying the Tower of Fantasy game.

Disclaimer: The information written in this thread is purely from the perspective and experience of the author who has played the Tower of Fantasy game for +- 100 hours of in-game experience. Btw, this is a no sponsored article. Just wanted to share.

1. Character Customization

A big aspect of the Tower of Fantasy game is the ability to customize the main character that you will use as the protagonist. The features provided for customizing are also very complex, from head size, body, clothing color, hair color, pupil type, pupil color, etc. (can be very detailed depending on your efforts in customizing).

More than that, the characters that you use will also be seen AND animated in every cutscene or dialogue in the story so this is a plus for this game.

2. Open World MMORPG

If you are familiar with the MMO genre, it means that you already understand the type of game you are going to play. Tower of Fantasy has quite a lot of servers (the first 10 days after the release until you have to queue to enter the server). Then, if you understand this genre, it has a plus, namely when playing MMORPGs with other players to complete dungeons, raid bosses, or world bosses. Here Tower of Fantasy has a pretty good feature to auto-match when you want to finish the mode you choose (dungeon weapon, matrice, gold, etc) and the waiting time is fairly short because the playerbase is quite large for now. So no need to worry for the large number of playerbase in this game.

3. Global Server

The available servers are global server types, where players from various countries can be on one server. This was problematic at the beginning of the release because quite a lot of players wanted to play Tower of Fantasy so that one server could be full in a short time. However, for now the developers are quite quick to solve the problem and now the number of servers available is more than sufficient.

4. Stamina/resin feature = Vitality

So, to do dungeon modes in Tower of Fantasy, special resources are needed called vitality. This is a form of "resin" or "stamina" in the game Tower of Fantasy. Even though this resource has a maximum cap feature, it doesn't mean this game depends on vitality. These special dungeons include equipment, matrice, exp, or leveling material rewards.

However, you can still get progress without using Vitality, because this game has quite a lot of modes, and you can still develop quite well (story, training, sidequest, bygone phantasm, raid, etc.)

5. Daily Routine

As I said in point number 4, this game has quite a lot of modes so you have to be able to prioritize what you are developing or want to develop, whether you focus on progress stories, grinding equipment, farming leveling materials, exploration, getting food ingredients, and so on. next. I provide a short guide for those of you who are just starting to play Tower of Fantasy. Please watch it.

6. Unique World and Theme

Tower of Fantasy has a cyberpunk / robot / futuristic era theme which can be said to have played a major role in the success of this game. The developer managed to create a neat and interesting environment so that this game has a good identity. The city design with NPCs and other accessories (robots, houses, architecture) I think works really well and creates a believable futuristic theme.

Below are points that must be considered in playing Tower of Fantasy. The following is :

7. Pay 2 Win (yep you hear it)

Tl;dr, (my advice) is AVOID PVP FEATURES.

Tower of Fantasy has summoning / gacha features like modern games in general, to get weapons (along with SKIN from weapon users), and matrices (this is like an "artifact" in Genshin Impact). Indeed, Tower of Fantasy has advantages in the "pity" summoning system compared to Hoyoverse, but the sad thing is that there is a Player versus Player / Arena mode where players fight in real time to get rankings in that mode. Although the developers say that the PVP mode has a matchmaking system that adjusts the combat power between fighters, in reality this is often one-sided and it is always those with the "better" weapons that win in the arena.

8. Content Overload

I don't know if this is a positive or negative value. However, the point I want to convey, Tower of Fantasy has so many mode features that can be worked on or completed. A HUGE AMOUNT. From story mode, ruins, training, world boss, raid boss, dungeon equipment, dungeon material leveling, blah blah blah.

Especially now that it has entered the Tower of Fantasy 1.5 version stage, where there is a "home" feature, namely Artificial Island, and there is an additional "weekly raid boss" feature. It really depends on your perspective, but in my opinion, players will burn out. ' quickly if this happens from the start of the release. Then, players need to concentrate and prioritize the content modes that they want / haven't done every week.

9. Strong Enemy / Boss / Mob

Don't be surprised if you just started the Tower of Fantasy game. In the beginning, the enemy could be said to be easy to defeat. Later, when you've gone through level 50+, and you've been able to unlock various modes, you'll understand what I'm saying here. Not only the AI (artificial intelligent) of the enemy is quite "sadistic", but the enemies in this game are considered "hardcore" in terms of health, or in terms of damage. This is not only in dungeon mode, but also in story mode, or just when doing world exploration. Hopefully your mindset is ready and will laugh compared to the enemy in Genshin Impact (just for comparison, not hate Genshin Impact).

If you're curious, please watch the video below (SPOILER ALERT) to see my fight against the final boss story version 1.0 of Tower of Fantasy.

The author's recap, that Tower of Fantasy has a fairly large appeal, such as touching the global MMORPG genre playerbase (The game was played by the MMORPG god Asmongold), the development process is quite fast (when this article was written, Tower of Fantasy has entered version 1.5), many features available gameplay, and can customize your character for free. Also considering this game is free to play, hopefully the playerbase will survive for a long time. The author's note, that the Pay to Win element in this game will have quite a hard impact if the game developer does not provide other solutions regarding this matter.

(FYI I still play Tower of Fantasy because the gacha rate is better and my luck is better here than the Hoyoverse )
